The Launching of Cape Size Floating Dock from HRDD

The virgin docking of the capesize floating dock converted from one VLCC was launched on 4th September 2004, which marks the breakthrough of accommodation capacity by HRDD.

Da Dong ( the capesize floating dock ) was converted from one VLCC and 2 sections of cape size bulk carrier, and emerges as the biggest floating dock in Shanghai area. Her main particulars are LOA340m, Beam 52m and lifting capacity at 48000 tons, which means she can accommodate vessel up to capesize bulk carrier and post panamax containers. As the first vessel docking in Da Dong floating dock, M/V Elbe Ore ( 312 x 50 ) from JPP Ocean Ship Management of Singapore expressed their satisfaction by way of awarding another vessel to HRDD due on the beginning of October 2004.

By March of 2005, HRDD will be possessing 3 floating docks and 5 berths after the second phase expansion development schedule.
